The newly inducted President, Rtr. The 7th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club at Saveetha School of Management was held on 23rd July 2024, with great enthusiasm and excitement, marking a new beginning for the club. Featuring renowned oncologist Dr. Veena Balamurugan, the session educated participants on early detection, self-examination, and preventive care. The event encouraged open dialogue, broke stigmas around women’s health, and empowered attendees to prioritize well-being.

The Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, with an impactful session titled “Break the Bias – Empowering Equality” at the SSM Auditorium. Featuring RJ Sai Suriya as the guest speaker, the event focused on challenging gender stereotypes, raising awareness about unconscious bias, and promoting inclusivity. Nimir Penn 2025, organized by the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management, empowered over 200 participants through a dynamic self-defense session focused on confidence, awareness, and preparedness. On March 2, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management organized ‘Innaiku Oru Pudi’ at FarmGuru, Karnodai — a fun-filled event focused on teamwork and bonding. The initiative beautifully blended learning with enjoyment, reflecting the club’s dedication to community, teamwork, and shared growth.

On February 20, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management organized ‘Gracious 4.0’, a heartfelt event celebrating love, friendship, and generosity. Students and faculty shared appreciation through the purchase of symbolic gifts, with proceeds donated to breast cancer patients and clothes collected to support them. Led by Rtr. Shalini S.A and Rtr. Sowmyaa B., the initiative impacted over 200 people, highlighting the club’s dedication to compassion, community care, and social responsibility.

On January 17, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management celebrated ‘Nammavar Pongal’, a heartfelt initiative to share the spirit of Pongal with the community. Club members prepared and distributed homemade Pongal to faculty, security staff, housekeeping personnel, and bonded laborers, spreading joy to those who may not celebrate traditionally. The act of kindness was met with gratitude and highlighted the club’s commitment to inclusivity, compassion, and community service, making the festival meaningful for everyone involved.

The Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management organized a heartwarming event titled “Nostalgia on Screen” on December 16, 2024, at the Don Bosco Old Age Home, Vyasarpadi, Chennai. The initiative aimed to bring joy to senior citizens by screening classic films and engaging them in interactive sessions that rekindled fond memories. In an inspiring step toward community development, the Rotaract Club of SSM, in partnership with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), has embarked on a transformative journey through their ongoing project, "SOW ENGLISH". This initiative is aimed at nurturing the linguistic abilities of students at the Mevalurkuppam Government School, empowering them with the confidence to communicate effectively in English—a skill that opens doors to countless opportunities. "SOW ENGLISH" is more than just a program—it’s a movement to sow the seeds of hope, knowledge, and opportunity in the hearts of future leaders. By equipping these students with a global language, we are not just teaching them words but also empowering them to script their own success stories.

In an extraordinary endeavor to uplift rural communities, the Rotaract Club of SSM, in partnership with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), has embarked on the remarkable “VILLAGE SERIES” project. This initiative is set in the heart of Chembarambakkam village, focusing on empowering women and fostering holistic community development. The “VILLAGE SERIES” is a beacon of hope, designed to equip the women of Chembarambakkam with essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. With carefully curated programs spanning education, skill-building, financial literacy, and wellness, the initiative aims to nurture self-reliance and create a ripple effect of progress within the community.

The event was attended by the board members and special guests from the district, including Group Rotaract Representative Rtr. Kishore, Group Co-ordinator Rtr. PP. Karthikeyan, Community Service Director Rtr. PP. Dilli Raja, and Rtr. IPP Yashni Raja. In a commendable effort to protect the environment and promote sustainability, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pondicherry Beach Town, successfully organized a Beach Cleaning Project at the picturesque Pondy Marina in Pondicherry. This initiative was more than just a cleanup; it was a movement to instill environmental responsibility among the local community and visitors alike. By removing litter and debris from the coastline, the project not only restored the beauty of Pondy Marina but also highlighted the urgent need for responsible waste management practices. The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants transformed the event into a memorable experience, with every member contributing wholeheartedly to the cause. The project received significant appreciation from the Commissioner of Pondicherry Municipality, who acknowledged the Rotaractors' unwavering commitment to environmental conservation. A very special note of gratitude goes to Mr. Prakash, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Pondicherry Beach Town, for his steadfast support and guidance throughout this initiative. His collaboration and encouragement were instrumental in the project’s success.

On 20th November 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management (SSM) hosted its 7th Club Orientation at the SSM Auditorium, marking a significant step in welcoming new members into the Rotaract community. The event was designed to familiarize fresh faces with the club's goals, structure, and various activities, while motivating them to engage actively in the spirit of service and leadership.

The orientation was graced by RTR. Gobinath, a distinguished District Official, who served as the special guest speaker. In his address, RTR. Gobinath shared valuable insights into the core values and objectives of Rotaract, inspiring the new members to contribute meaningfully to the community. On 9th July 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management hosted an inspiring project titled “MANNIPAYA” to commemorate World Forgiveness Day and World Chocolate Day. This heartwarming initiative was a blend of introspection, reconciliation, and gratitude, aiming to foster a culture of kindness and mutual respect within the SSM community.

On 2nd October 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management (SSM) organized a virtual awareness campaign in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The primary objective of the initiative was to educate participants on the importance of early detection, risk factors, preventive measures, and the significance of regular screenings in combating breast cancer.

The session featured Dr. Veena Balamurugan as the guest speaker, who brought her expertise and in-depth knowledge to the topic. Dr. Balamurugan delivered an informative and engaging presentation, covering crucial aspects of breast cancer such as early detection methods, symptoms, risk factors, and preventive measures. She emphasized the importance of performing regular self-examinations and mammograms, providing practical guidance on how to conduct self-checks and recognize warning signs.

On 14th October 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management marked World Postal Day with a heartwarming initiative titled “KANMANI ANBODU.” This unique project was dedicated to rekindling the timeless charm of handwritten letters, a heartfelt form of communication that has been overshadowed by the convenience of digital messaging. The event invited participants to pause amidst the hustle of modern life and pen letters to their loved ones. Messages of gratitude, love, and encouragement filled the pages, as participants embraced the personal touch that only a handwritten letter can convey. The initiative not only revived a nostalgic tradition but also emphasized the emotional depth and sincerity of this fading art form.

On December 6, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management (SSM) launched the "Poster for Shelter" project in the Marina and Parrys local areas. This innovative initiative aimed to provide immediate support to families living in Olai Veedu (thatched houses), offering them posters that could be used to prevent water leakage and provide temporary shelter in the event of adverse weather conditions.

On December 8, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Saveetha School of Management (SSM) conducted the impactful FEM CARE project at Oxford Clinic, Anna Nagar. The event was designed to raise awareness about women’s health, offering free health checkups, workshops on mental health and stress management, as well as interactive sessions on nutrition and fitness.
